While Black Friday week is typically full of high-heat Air Jordan drops, Jordan brand has made the headlines this week for a much more heartwarming take on a classic silhouette. While player exclusive releases are usually reserved for high-profile athletes, the brand has recently teamed up with Make a wish foundation to gift 13 year old Jordan Carranza a pair of Air Jordan 1 FlyEase he designed.
Jordan suffers from a muscle-wasting disease titled Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) and always dreamt of designing his own sneaker, therefore he got in contact with Jordan brand who helped make his dreams a reality. Nike has a rich history when it comes to special projects like this, the Doernbecher project in particular springs to mind.

The insoles also read “Just because you’re disabled doesn’t mean that your dream can’t come true.”
While this pair will never be released to the public, we’re sure that Jordan will cherish these for many years to come, after all, he even shares the same name with the brand!
